The Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team started the season off strong with a 10-8 victory over the Westminster Titans this afternoon on UPMC Field.
Saint Vincent (1-0) started the game strong after getting caught down 1-0, the Bearcats did not look back.
Kaylee Bandow started the scoring for Saint Vincent who scored 4 unanswered goals. Westminster (0-1) battled back to bring the game within one goal, but the Bearcats finished the half with two goals to go into the break with a 7-4 lead.
Westminster started the second half scoring two goals, but any momentum the Titans had, the Bearcats clawed them back down. Saint Vincent finished the Titans with a score of 10-8.
Kaylee Bandow led the Bearcats with three goals, as well as
Joey Smith and
Bridget Doyle each having three points.
Kyra Lipetzky stopped 11 shots and got the win for Saint Vincent. Westminster was led in scoring today by Ava Krensky who finished the day with four goals. The Titans were backed by Emma Bradley who made 13 saves.
Saint Vincent is back in action on Tuesday, March 16
, to take on the Thiel Tomcats. Game time is  7:00 p.m.
