The Saint Vincent College men's volleyball team traveled to Hamburg, New York for an AMCC matchup against Hilbert College. The Bearcats defeat the Hawks, 3-0.
To start the first set, Hilbert (0-3, 0-3) and Saint Vincent (2-5, 2-4) exchanged points to make the score 5-4 SVC. Then, the Bearcats went on a big run, scoring 11 of the next 13 points. Saint Vincent claimed the set by a score of 25-11.
To begin the second set, the Bearcats rushed out to a 9-3 lead. This lasted the whole set as SVC went on a tear scoring 10 of the next 15 points. Saint Vincent took this set by a score of 25-14. Saint Vincent had the advantage with a 2-0 set lead heading into the third set.
The third set was the same story. Saint Vincent rushed out to an 13-5 lead. The Bearcats didn't look back from there scoring 14 of the next 20 points. SVC claimed the final set with ease by a score of 25-21.
Matthew Minkin led the team with 12 kills and
Ethan Kammerer added six.
Matthew Furrer led the team with 19 assists.
Saint Vincent wraps up its regular season on Wednesday, March 31 at Penn State-Altoona in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup. Start time is 7 p.m.
