The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team faced Grove City College on the road in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. A late goal propelled the Bearcats to victory, 10-9.

The Wolverines (1-1, 1-1) opened the game with a quick goal from Jed Speers. The Bearcats (2-0, 2-0) fired back 6:16 left in the first as
Jacob Visalli scored a goal, assisted by
Alec Richards.

With 2:10 to go in the first period, Visalli tallied another goal, thanks to an assist from
Caleb Hawkins. Saint Vincent led 2-1 at the end of the first period.

At the start of the second period, the Bearcats increased their lead with a goal by
Matthew Cassidy off a helper from Hawkins. Saint Vincent was ahead 3-1.

Grove City answered back, scoring with 8:24 in the second period. Saint Vincent had the 3-2 advantage over the Wolverines.

After high shot from
Frank Casile, Cassidy scored for SVC, leading 4-2. Two minutes remaining in the second, Grove City scored a goal from Brett Gladstone. The Bearcats ended the half with a miniscule lead over the Wolverines, 4-3.
Visalli continued his dominance with a quick goal to start the third period, increasing the Saint Vincent lead to two (5-3). Grove City's Michael La Forte scored a quick goal to keep the deficit at one.

Less than a minute later at the 10:28 mark of the third period,
Jordan Billet scored for the Bearcats increasing the lead back to two. The Wolverines answered back with three quick goals minutes within each other, leading Saint Vincent 7-6 at the 6:07 mark.

Visalli added a goal for the Bearcats with 1:25 remaining in the third period. The contest was tied 7-7 heading into the final period.
Cassidy scored another goal for Saint Vincent with 11:36 remaining in the fourth period. Grove City answered, tying the contest at eight a piece with under ten minutes to play.
Zack Novelli gave Saint Vincent the edge over the Wolverines 9-8.

Less than a minute later, Grove City scored a goal by Speers tying the game at nine. At the 2:49 mark,
Andrew Coholich scored the final goal for the Bearcats.

Saint Vincent had another scoring opportunity with 27 seconds remaining in the game but could not capitalize. Grove City tried to score late but SVC corralled a ground ball to secure the victory over the Wolverines, 10-9.

Visalli finished the game with four goals and one assist for a total of five points.

Other leading scorers were Cassidy with three goals and Novelli, Coholich and Billet each tallying one goal apiece.

Caleb Bouch started in net and picked up the win for the Bearcats making 12 saves.

Saint Vincent returns to the field on Saturday, March 13 to face Westminster College. Start time is 12:00 p.m.
