The Saint Vincent women's bowling team won two of three matches in a round-robin preliminary, and earned a berth in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament.
SVC started the day with an 890-750 victory over Hilbert College, as the Bearcats avenged a defeat two weeks ago by the Hawks.Â
Olivia Emmonds paced the team with a 190 game, while
Jessica Guesman finished with a 188. Danielle Koehler shot 180, while her sisters, Monique and Jackie, finished at 172 and 160, respectively.
In the second match of the day, SVC battled host Penn State-Behrend, and it was Guesman who led the team to the win with a 221 game.Â
Jackie Koehler added a 162, as the Bearcats won 829-759.
The final match of the day pitted the Bearcats against Medaille for the #1 seed in the tournament, but SVC fell behind early and ended up leaving 8 splits en route to a 983-861 loss. Emmonds had the high game with a 214, while Guesman shot 189 and
Monique Koehler finished with a 186.
Guesman led the team for the day with a 199.3 average, while Emmonds averaged 186.
The Bearcats are now 7-2 overall, 4-2 in AMCC conference play. Medaille, Mount Aloysius and New Jersey City University will join the Bearcats at Sims Lanes in Beaver Falls next Saturday, March 13, for the quarterfinals of the AMCC Championship Tournament.
