The Bearcats had their work cut out for them in singles despite starting with a 2-1 lead. Franciscan quickly drew even with a straight sets win at third singles. Lynn answered in kind with a straight sets win of his own, 6-2, 6-2, at first singles to edge SVC closer to victory.
Josh Boland put Saint Vincent up 4-2 in the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at fourth singles. Needing just one more point to clinch the match the Bearcats trailed in two of the three remaining matches. After the Barons claimed the fifth and sixth singles point, the match rested on the racquet of Sanchez.
Playing in the two-hole, Sanchez battled to a 6-4 win in his first set. A broken string derailed him in the second set in which he lost 6-2. In the third set tiebreaker, Sanchez faced an uphill battle being down 8-7 before he reeled off three straight points, capped by a blistering forehand winner, to clinch the match for Saint Vincent.

The win marks the first in program history against Franciscan and moves the Bearcats' record to 3-1 (3-1 PAC) on the year. SVC travels to Westminster College on Sunday, April 11 at 1:30 p.m. for their next match.
