The Saint Vincent College women's lacrosse outscored Westminster 10-3 in the second half to defeat the Titans, 21-9.
Joey Smith opened the scoring for both teams just 3:08 into the first half.
Lucy Volna followed with two goals separated with a goal from
Bridget Doyle. Trailing 4-0, Westminster (1-7, 1-4) scored three-straight to pull within one.
Volna completed her hat trick with a man-up goal off a pass from
Joey Smith.
Margaret Edwards added her name to the score sheet as she gave Saint Vincent (6-3, 3-1) a 6-3 lead. Over the last nine-plus minutes of the first half, the Bearcats outscored the Titans 5-2 to lead 11-6 at the break.
The second half was very much the same as SVC out scored Westminster 10-3 to win by the 12-goal margin.
Smith led both teams with nine points (3G, 6A) while Volna had six goals with an assist. Eight total Bearcats tallied a point on the evening.
Kyra Lipetzky made 15 saves in the win.
Saint Vincent returns home to face Washington & Jefferson on Sunday, April 18. Start time is 4 p.m.
