In a non-league match up with Geneva the Saint Vincent men's tennis team emerged victorious, 5-4.
The Bearcats fell behind early when Geneva grabbed the second doubles point to take a 1-0 lead, but SVC answered quickly with as Aaron Kuhn and Evan Ray battled to an 8-6 win at third doubles. With the match even Mauricio Sanchez and David Lynn teamed up to claim an 8-4 win at the top spot and give Saint Vincent the lead, 2-1, heading into singles action.
The Golden Tornadoes quickly evened the match again, winning at third singles. Lynn then pushed SVC ahead with a tough 6-3, 6-4 win at first singles. Minutes after Lynn finished Ray double dipped for a win at sixth singles, 6-3, 6-1. Josh Boland secured the Bearcat victory with a straight sets win at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-2.
Saint Vincent moves to 4-2 (3-2 PAC) on the year with the win. The Bearcats next match is slated for Monday, April 19 at 4:30pm when they travel to Washington & Jefferson for the PAC regular season finale.Â
