The Saint Vincent men's tennis team came away victorious in a Presidents' Athletic Conference road match against Washington & Jefferson, 6-3.
The Presidents jumped out to an early lead with an 8-3 win at third doubles. Shortly thereafter SVC secured wins at first and second doubles to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.
Aaron Kuhn struck the first blow in singles, a 6-3, 6-1 win at sixth singles to put the Bearcats up 3-1. Next to finish was Josh Boland with a straight sets win of his own, 6-2, 6-2, at fourth singles.
Evan Ray clinched the Saint Vincent victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win of his own at fifth singles. Also winning for SVC was David Lynn, who bested his opponent in a 7-6(4), 6-4 slugfest at the top spot.
With the win Saint Vincent finishes conference play with a 5-2 (4-2 PAC) record. The Bearcats will wrap up their regular season with a non-league tilt against Waynesburg on Thursday, April 22 at 4:30pm.
