The Saint Vincent women's tennis team fell to the visiting Thiel Tomcats, 5-4, to conclude its season.
Maria Hoh and Lauren Hartner cruised to an 8-1 win at third doubles, followed by an 8-5 win at first doubles by Maura Skelley and Angela Popovich. The Bearcats fell at second doubles but entered singles with a 2-1 match lead.
Popovich and Hartner won again in singles, both in straight sets, at second and fifth singles. Saint Vincent was unable to get the final point to secure a victory, dropping the remaining four singles points, three of which came in tightly contested third set tiebreakers.
With the loss the Bearcats finish their season with a 1-5Â (1-5Â PAC) record on the year. The team will return to play in the Fall 2021 semester for a regularly scheduled Fall season.
