The Saint Vincent College men's lacrosse team traveled to Chatham University for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. After a strong first half, the Bearcats fell to the Cougars, 9-7.
Nate Salera scored the games first goal with under five minutes expired in the first period.
Jacob Visalli and
Zack Novelli added goals for Saint Vincent (7-3, 2-2) has the team held a 3-0 lead.
In the second, Chatham (4-4, 2-1) scored the first two goals to pull within one.
Matthew Cassidy responded with two goals of his own with one being assisted by
Andrew Coholich. The Bearcats held the three-goal (5-3) at the half.
The Cougars scored the first goal in the second half before Coholich scored a man-up goal off a Novelli pass. Chatham scored two more times before the end of the period to pull within one (6-5).
Cassidy scored under two minutes into the fourth but unfortunately it would be the last for SVC. The Cougars scored four-straight goals to win by two (9-7).
Cassidy led the Bearcats with three goals while Coholich, Novelli and Visalli each finished with two points.
Brandon Martin started in net, playing over 49 minutes and making 10 saves.
Saint Vincent hosts Thiel College on Saturday, April 24 on Senior Day. Start time is 12 p.m.
