OBERLIN, Ohio (Oct. 15) – Once again facing a field of regional and national powers, the Saint Vincent women's cross country team represented itself well at the 2022 Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College.
Paced by a pair of top-20 performances from its dynamic freshman duo, Saint Vincent placed 11th in a strong field of 32 teams, totaling 341 points.
Rookie
Miranda Cincotta led the way for the Bearcats, recording a time of 22 minutes, 32 seconds in the 6-kilometer race to place 11th out of 282 runners. Classmate
Kristen Prince was closely behind, placing 17th with a time of 22 minutes, 45 seconds.
All five of SVC's scoring runners placed in the top half of the deep field.
Lauren Brennan covered the course in 24 minutes, 34 seconds, to place 105th, three seconds and two places ahead of teammate
Lily Murphy (24 minutes, 35 seconds).
Cassy Lanza rounded out the scoring five with a time of 24 minutes, 55 seconds, to finish 131st.
Grace Scoville (27 minutes, 56 seconds),
Laura Heinzeroth (28 minutes, 42 seconds) and
Ruth Milne (31 minutes, 10 seconds) closed out the SVC competitors.
John Carroll won the team title, accumulating 70 points to finish comfortably ahead of second-place Wisconsin-Stevens Point (165). Baldwin Wallace's Hope Murphy won the individual championship with a time of 21 minutes, 54 seconds.
The Bearcats will now set their sights on the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship, which they will host on Saturday, Oct. 29.
