LATROBE, Pa (Dec. 3)- The Saint Vincent men's swimming team played host to Washington and Jefferson in a PAC matchup, where the Bearcats came away with a convincing 192-49 victory over the Presidents.

The Bearcats won 13 of the 14 events over the Presidents during the meet.

Jacob Dzurica led the way for the Bearcats. Dzurica won the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, and was also a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team and 200-yard freestyle relay team as well. In the 200-yard freestyle he finished with a time of 1:51.13, four seconds faster than his teammate
Colin Spehar who finished in second for the Bearcats.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Dzurica finished with a time of 48.22, three seconds faster than Spehar who finished in second place in this event as well.

Chris Bush had a strong showing in the meet as well. Bush recorded first place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle, and the 500-yard freestyle, and a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Bush finished ten seconds ahead of teammate
James Clark who finished in second place. In the 500-yard freestyle, he finished with a time of 5:13.17, ten seconds better than Aidan Miller of W&J who finished in second place. In the 200-yard IM, Bush finished five seconds behind
Nicholas Jackman of the Bearcats who finished in first.

Along with his win in the 200-yard IM, Jackman also recorded wins in the 200-yard backstroke event. Jackman finished with a time of 2:05.62 in the event, which was seven seconds faster than Nathan Smith of W&J who finished in second place.

Both
Kris Smith and
Alex Leskovansky were also strong contributors in route to the Bearcats convincing win. Smith and Leskovansky were both on the winning 200-yard medley relay team and 200-yard freestyle relay team.

Individually, Smith won the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke events. Leskovansky on the other hand took home individual wins in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly events.

Noah Schollaert finished just behind Smith in the 200-yard breaststroke event, finishing in second place for SVC. Spehar also finished in second behind Leskovansky in the 50-yard freestyle event.

Robert Harrington also won one event for the Bearcats. Harrington won the 200-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:16.44, four seconds faster than teammate
Hayden Klein who finished in second place in the event.

The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, January 14 when they travel to Chatham to take on the Cougars in a PAC meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Chatham.
