AMHERST, N.Y. - The Saint Vincent men's tennis team fell on the road to NCAA Division-II foe Daemen College by a score of 6-1.
Playing by D-II rules the Bearcats got off to a slow start in doubles, dropping several deciding points. David Lynn and Mauricio Sanchez, playing at first doubles, clawed back from a 2-5 deficit but ultimately fell by a score of 4-6. Aaron Kuhn and Matthew Sadusky also battled at third doubles but also lost 4-6.
In singles action SVC failed to gain any momentum. The lone win for the Bearcats came from Sam Butler, who claimed a 6-0, 6-2 victory playing at number one singles.
With the loss Saint Vincent's record sits at 4-3 on the year.
The Bearcats will return to action when they travel to Waynesburg for their Presidents' Athletic Conference opener on Friday, March 25 at 4:00 p.m.
