GREENVILLE, Pa. (April 23) - The Saint Vincent men's tennis team finished off its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule with a 9-0 win over Thiel.
The Bearcats used a 2-0 lead, due to Thiel not being able to field a third doubles team or sixth singles player, to start quickly. Jon Oskin and Matthew Sadusky quickly dispatched their opponents at second doubles, 8-0, to take a 3-0 lead. David Lynn and Josh Boland paired up at first doubles for an 8-1 win to push the lead to 4-0.
Jack Citrone sealed the win for SVC with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles. The win pushed Citrone's singles win streak to 9 and capped a perfect conference season for the freshman. Oskin, Lynn, and Sadusky all claimed 6-0, 6-0 wins in their singles matches, while Brian Lee earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory at first singles.
The win has the Bearcats sitting at 11-5 (5-2 PAC) heading into their regular season finale, a non-conference twin bill against Mt. Aloysius on Sunday, April 24. The matches begin at noon at the Ebensburg Tennis Center.
