MEADVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 18)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by PAC foe, Allegheny in Meadville on Wednesday afternoon.

A Gator goal in the 89
th minute that just crossed passed the goal line was difference maker in the loss for the Bearcats.

Kameron Rock was stellar in net for Saint Vincent, making nine saves in the loss. The Bearcats totaled nine shots as time with five of them coming from
Mattia Speretta, including one shot on goal.
Andres Mateos Carrion recorded two shots, one of which was on goal.

Kelvin Aguilar-Contreras recorded a shot on goal in the loss for Saint Vincent as well.

In the opening half both teams had opportunities to score but neither found the back of the net. Allegheny held the ball in their offensive zone for the majority of the half as the Gators outshot SVC 12-4, with six of those 12 being on goal for Allegheny and two of the four on goal for the Bearcats in the opening half of play.

Saint Vincent recorded two corner kicks in comparison to four from Allegheny. Fouls were 7-6 in the opening half of play in favor of Allegheny. Rock made a couple of huge saves late in the half for the Bearcats to keep the game scoreless going into the half. He recorded six total saves in the half.

It was much of the same story in the second half as both teams battled in their opposing ends back-and-forth. Again, Rock made several critical saves for the Bearcats over the course of the half to keep the match in a scoreless tie.

In the 89
th minute, Allegheny's Aidan Dyga shot a dribbler into the box which just barely got passed the goal line to score the game-winning goal for the Gators. Saint Vincent attempted to kick the ball into their offensive end in the final minute, but the Allegheny defense held strong to keep the Bearcats off the scoreboard.

Overall, shots were 23-9 in favor of Allegheny and corner kicks were in the Gators favor as well at 7-5. Both teams recorded 12 fouls.

The Bearcats looked to get back in the win column when they travel to Grove City for another PAC match on Saturday, October 21. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. at Grove City.
