LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 27)- The Saint Vincent men's swim team recorded their first win of the 2023-24 campaign with a commanding 189-75 win over conference foe, Allegheny.

Nickolas Jackman had a big night for the Bearcats, recording wins in all three of the individual events he competed in. Jackman's first win of the night came in 200-yard freestyle, where he finished with a time of 1:54.01, three seconds faster than Jack Malnar of Allegheny who finished in second place.

Jackman also won the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a time of 2:15.43, two seconds faster than
Jacob Halter who finished in second place for the Bearcats in the event. Jackman's final win of the night came in the 400-yard IM, swimming a time of 4:37.27 in route to his victory.

Jacob Dzurica showed up with a solid performance for Saint Vincent as well. Dzurica opened his night with a win in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 21.57 seconds just under a second faster than the Gators, Emmett Manning who finished in second place.

Dzurica also won the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 50.39, half a second faster than Malnar who finished in second place for the visiting Gators. He was also part of the Bearcats winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, where he brought home the victory for the Bearcats.

Also part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team for SVC was
Liam Randolph,
Colin Spehar, and
Alex Leskovansky. Randolph also won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.46, finishing ahead of his teammate, Spehar who finished in second place in the event.

Randolph was part of the winning 400-yard medley relay for Saint Vincent as well, teaming up with
Anton Seifert,
Robert Harrington, and
Hayden Klein.

Seifert recorded two second place finishes as well, coming in the 1000-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly events. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Klein took home the win for the Bearcats, touching the wall at a time of 11:41.43.

Harrington won two individual events as well in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.11) and 500-yard freestyle (5:17.71), while Leskovansky won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 58.07.

Jacob Halter was big for the Bearcats in the win as well, recording a win in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming a time of 1:02.05.

The Bearcats have a quick turnaround as they travel to Penn State-Altoona tomorrow, Saturday, October 28. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
