GROVE CITY, Pa. (Nov. 11)- The Saint Vincent women's swim team fell to Grove City by a final score of 162.5-108.5
Rachel Hutchinson was the Bearcats top performer on the afternoon. Hutchinson secured two first-place finishes for SVC, first winning the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:30.43 and following that up with a win in the 500-yard freestyle event as well, swimming a time of 5:33.62 in route to victory.
Abby Leskovansky was solid for Saint Vincent as well, also picking up two wins on the afternoon. Leskovansky opened up with a win in the 100-yard backstroke, racing a time of 1:04.28. She then followed that up with a win in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 55.28 to tie with Grove City's Liz Hasse for the win in that event.
Also, in the 100-freestyle,
Malia Carns placed third for SVC, swimming a time of 1:02.50 and
Sydney Burton placed fourth in the event with a time of 1:08.67.
In the 50-yard freestyle event,
Emma Martz was the Bearcats top finisher, finishing in third place, racing a time of 26.40. Carns finished right behind Martz in the event, swimming a time of 28.19. Martz also picked up a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, swimming a time of 1:03.90.
Sarah Alexander and
Lily Holsey each recorded third place finishes on the afternoon as well for Saint Vincent. Alexander finished third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:26.59 and Holsey finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke, racing a time of 2:48.60.
The Bearcats 200-yard freestyle relay team concluded the meet with a second-place finish. Leskovansky, Martz, Hutchinson, and Alexander teamed up to finish with a time of 1:44.15 in the event.
The Bearcats return to action late next week when they travel to Malone University for the three-day mid-season meet beginning on Thursday, November 16 and going through Saturday, November 18.
