YORK, Pa. (Nov. 4)- The Saint Vincent women's swim team defeated non-conference opponent York College by a final score of 119-81 for their third win in a row.
 
Sarah Alexander led the way for the Bearcats, recording two individual wins on the afternoon. Alexander won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:38.54, 13 seconds faster than the second-place finisher from York.
 
Alexander also won the 500-yard freestyle event as well, swimming a time of 5:42.67 to win the event. The second-place finisher in the event was her SVC teammate, Brook McDermott who swam a time of 5:50.70 to finish in second place.
 
The Bearcats won the 400-yard freestyle relay as well with Alexander being part of that winning team. Alexander teamed up with Malia Carns, Cecilia Hickin, and McDermott to bring home the win for Saint Vincent.
 
The 200-yard medley relay went to the Bearcats as well. Abby Leskovansky, Valerie Clabaugh, Rachel Hutchinson, and Martz teamed up to take first-place for SVC. Individually, Leskovansky also won the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.38) and finished second in the 50-yard freestyle.
 
Clabaugh on the other hand finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke and won the 100-yard butterfly, swimming a time of 1:06.94.
 
Hutchinson picked up second place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.23) and the 200-yard freestyle event, swimming a time of 2:07.94.
 
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, November 11 when they travel to Grove City for a meet against the Wolverines. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
