Men's Swimming Cruises to Road Win at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. (Dec. 2)- The Saint Vincent men's swimming team secured a 155-108 PAC win on the road at Washington and Jefferson.
 
The Bearcats opened the afternoon with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. A combination of Nickolas Jackman, Liam Randolph, Colin Spehar, and Alex Leskovansky finished in a time of 1:42.77, finishing just one second behind the winning group from W&J.
 
Jackman had a big afternoon individually as well. Jackman won the 200-yard freestyle event and the 500-yard freestyle event for the Bearcats, concluding his afternoon with a win in the 200-yard IM. In the 200, he won in a time of 1:56.72, three-seconds faster than his teammate, Soma Burt who finished in second-place in the event, with a time of 1:59.66.
 
In the 500-yard freestyle, Jackman raced a time of 5:07.87 to finish 14 seconds ahead of Dan Jefferies of W&J. In the 200-yard IM, he raced a time of 2:10.44 to secure the victory.
 
Randolph recorded a trio of second-place finishes for Saint Vincent as well on the afternoon. First, he placed second in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a time of 2:23.78. He followed that up with a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM, swimming a time of 2:13.04 to finish behind Jackman.
 
Randolph's third second-place result came in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:01.32, finishing less than a second behind Logan Marks who won the event for the Presidents.
 
Spehar won the 100-yard butterfly for the Bearcats in a time of 55.32, finishing ahead of his teammate Hayden Klein who finished in second place with a time of 58.52. Spehar was also a part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team as well. He teamed up with Robert Harrington, Klein, and Leskovansky to swim a time of 3:29.13 to win the final event of the afternoon.
 
Leskovansky was another top individual performer for the Bearcats. He won the 50-yard freestyle (23.19) and the 100-yard freestyle (51.52) for Saint Vincent. Harrington finished in second in the 100-yard freestyle for SVC.
 
Harrington also won the 200-yard butterfly, swimming a time of 2:12.24, securing another win for the Bearcats on the afternoon.
 
Jacob Bacasa tallied an individual win for Saint Vincent as well, winning the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:58.82 to finish ahead of Aidan Miller of the Presidents.
 
The Bearcats will enjoy a nice break as they won't compete again until after Christmas break when they travel to Chatham for a meet against the Cougars. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 19.
