In a battle between two nationally ranked teams, #11 Daemen University defeated #13 Saint Vincent in a match held at Lincoln Lanes in Latrobe.

In game one, SVC fell behind early, but managed to tie the game in the fifth frame after three consecutive stikes by Monique Koehler.  However, the Wildcats stormed right back, retaking the lead in the sixth and pulling away to a 961-848 win.  Olivia Emmonds had the top score for Saint Vincent (181), while Koehler finished with a 179.

The second game belonged to the visitors right from the start, as the Bearcats struggled throughout the game.  Koehler finished with a 200, but SVC fell by a score of 951-791.

The third point of the night was a five-game Baker team set, and SVC jumped out to the early lead with a win in game one, 217-208.  In game two, Daemen was a 187-162 winner, taking a 16-pin lead in total pins.  Saint Vincent cut into the margin with a 214-202 win in the third game, trailing by just four pins going into game four.  The Bearcats won the fourth game by 33 pins, 208-175, to take a 29-pin lead heading into the final game of the night.  Saint Vincent started with four straight strikes, and finished strong with another 208 game, but the Wildcats were sharp, shooting a 267.  While Saint Vincent averaged over 200 for the set and had its highest five-game total of the season, Daemen won by a score of 1039-1009.

Saint Vincent is now 31-5 on the season, and will host Daemen along with five other schools on Saturday in the Br. Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament, starting at 10AM at Lincoln Lanes.  The tournament is named after the longtime coach of the SVC men's bowling team, which won the NAIA National Championship under Br. Pat's guidance in 1978.
