WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Sept. 16)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team fell by a slight 2-1 defeat to Penn College on Saturday afternoon.

Antonio Mendes scored the lone goal of the day for the Bearcats. The goal was Mendes' second goal of the season.

The Bearcats got on the board quickly as Mendes scored on a penalty kick in the sixth minute to give SVC a 1-0 lead. The Bearcats lead lasted for about the next 20-minutes before Penn got on the board.

The Wildcats, Mason Beaver scored on an assist by Brendan Geiger to tie the match up at 1-1. Both defenses stepped up over the remaining 21-minutes in the half as the match went to the half tied at one.

Saint Vincent outshot Penn 4-3 in the half. The Wildcats recorded three corner kicks compared to SVC's one in the opening half. Both teams also recorded six fouls.

After a scoreless first ten minutes in the second half, Penn scored what would be the game winner in the 55th minute. Tommy DeGeyter scored for the Wildcats to give Penn a 2-1 lead. That would remain the final score as both defenses stepped up the rest of the way, as SVC dropped to 3-3 overall.
