PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Jan. 10)- The Saint Vincent women's basketball team was defeated 69-58 on the road by PAC foe Chatham on Wednesday night.

Saint Vincent (6-9, 4-6 PAC) kept it close in a back-and-forth first half as the Bearcats trailed by just two 27-25 at the half. Chatham (13-2, 9-1 PAC) outscored the Bearcats 42-33 in the second half to defeat SVC by the 11-point margin.

Reese Gadsby was one of three Bearcats to score in double figures as she scored 10 points while also recording 12 rebounds to record her first career double-double.
Lizzie Bender scored 12 points to lead SVC and
Madison Weber scored 10 points while also grabbing six rebounds.

Alana Winkler recorded ten rebounds to ass to Saint Vincent's total as well.

It was back-and-forth for the entirety of the first half as the score was tied at 8-8 and then 10-10. Chatham gained slight separation after a basket put them up 12-10.

The Bearcats answered scoring the final three points of the quarter on a layup from
Camdon Bashor and a free throw from Bashor as well, giving Saint Vincent a 13-12 lead heading into the second quarter.

It was much of the same story in the second quarter. Chatham opened the quarter on an 11-3 run to take a 23-16 lead, but the Bearcats answered. SVC went on a quick 7-0 run on layups by Mannarino and Winkler, mixed with a three-pointer from
Emily Cavacini to tie the game at 23-23.

The Cougars led slightly for the rest of the half, holding a two point, 27-25 lead at halftime.

It was all Chatham in the second half, specifically the third quarter. The Cougars outscored the Bearcats 24-17 in the third quarter to open their lead up to open their lead up to nine at 51-42.

It was back-and-forth once again in the fourth quarter, with Chatham leading for the entirety of the quarter. Saint Vincent cut the lead to six early in the fourth quarter but that's the closest they'd get the rest of the way with Chatham pulling away at the end.

The Bearcats shot 38.1 percent (24-63) from the field and were just 3-17 from beyond the three-point line. Saint Vincent was a strong 7-8 (87.5 percent) from the free-throw line.

Saint Vincent looks to rebound when they return home to take on Franciscan on Saturday, January 13. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Center on Saturday.
