TRAFFORD, Pa. (Oct. 8) – Saint Vincent College freshman Grace Neubert has earned Presidents' Athletic Conference weekly honors for the fourth time this season.
Following her performance at the NCAA Pre-Nationals on Friday, Oct. 4, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Neubert (Saint Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) was named the PAC Women's Cross Country Newcomer of the Week.
Racing against a field that included runners from nine teams ranked in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) national poll, Neubert placed 33rd overall out of 389 runners, and was the top-finishing freshman, with a time of 22 minutes, 20 seconds, in the 6-kilometer race.
Neubert's effort led the Bearcats to a 22nd-place finish in the 44-team field.
The Bearcats have raced in four events this season, and Neubert has earned PAC accolades following each one.
This marks the second time this season in which Neubert was named the PAC's Newcomer of the Week, previously earning the honor on Sept. 3 after racing to a second-place finish in her collegiate debut at the Saint Francis University Fr. Bede Invitational.
Neubert has also twice been named the conference's Runner of the Week, first earning the honor on Sept. 10 after topping a 92-runner field at the PAC Championship Preview on Sept. 7, before again being honored last week after placing seventh overall, and first among NCAA Division III competitors, at the Sept. 28 Lock Haven Invitational.
Neubert and the Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19, traveling to Logan Township, New Jersey, to take part in the Rowan University Border Battle.
