MEADVILLE, Pa. (Nov. 16)- The Saint Vincent women's swimming team breezed past Allegheny with a 170-82 victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats (3-2, 1-1 PAC) opened up the afternoon with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Cecilia Hickin,
Lily Holsey,
Abby Leskovansky, and
Deanna Miller all swam to a time of 2:00.05 to earn the second place finish in the event for the Bearcats.
On top of her second place finish in the medley relay, Leskovansky, fresh off of her PAC Swimmer of the Week honors earned three individual wins as well. Leskovansky won the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.36), the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.73), and the 200-yard IM, swimming a time of 2:18.36 to conclude her impressive day.
Rachel Hutchinson had an impressive day for the Bearcats as well. Hutchinson picked up two individual wins, winning the 1000-yard freestyle (11:46.12) and the 500-yard freestyle for SVC, racing a time of 5:40.80 to win the event for the Bearcats.
Teresa Grimm,
Emma Martz, and Miller all picked up an individual win as well as a second place finish as well. Grimm won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:14.76, while she finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.28). Martz won the 100-yard freestyle, finishing just ahead of Grimm with a time of 58.36, while she finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:16.29), finishing just behind Grimm.
Miller finished second in the 100-yard backstroke behind Leskovansky, racing a time of 1:11.17 for the Bearcats. She won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:40.09. Also in the 200-yard backstroke,
Valerie Clabaugh finished second, racing a time of 2:49.66
Sarah Alexander and Hickin both picked up individual wins in the meet win as well. Alexander won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:09.19, while Hickin won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.63 for Saint Vincent.
The Bearcats return to action on Thursday, November 21, competing in the three-day Malone University Invitational.Â
