LATROBE, Pa. (Feb. 24) – In its 2024 home-opener at a frigid UPMC Field, the Saint Vincent College women's lacrosse team was defeated 20-4 by visiting Marietta College.

Bailey Nicely scored three goals to lead the Bearcats (0-1), while classmate
Carolina Walters scored once.

Kyra Lipetzky recorded 16 saves, one shy of her previous career high.
Lipetzky and junior
Brianna Mack shared the SVC team lead with three ground balls apiece, while
Addy Carbaugh topped the Bearcat defense with two caused turnovers.
Nicely and Walters each totaled two draw controls to tie for the SVC team lead.
Marietta (2-0) out-shot Saint Vincent by a 42-8 margin, while forcing 24 SVC turnovers.
The Pioneers were led on the afternoon by Hope Adams, who scored six goals, while teammate Mallory Wiles found the net four times.
The Bearcats will now have a three-week respite before returning to non-conference action with a road bout at Wilson College on Wednesday, March 13.
