HILTON HEAD, S.C. (Mar. 6)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 by Buena Vista University in Hilton Head on Wednesday afternoon.

Buena Vista (1-6) won two of the three doubles matches over the Bearcats (5-2), before defeating Saint Vincent in four of the six singles matches as well.

In doubles play,
August Lawrence and
Kyle Murray earned the lone win for SVC, defeating Tyler Harger and Bryson Frederickson by a score of 8-3. Saint Vincent fell in number one singles and number two singles by scores of 4-8.

Braden Yokopenic got the Bearcats off to a nice start in singles play, clinching the win at number one singles by scores of 6-1, 6-4 to defeat Henry Borts.

SVC lost the next three singles matches and number two, three, and four, before
Jack Citrone earned the 6-3, 7-5 win at number five singles for the Bearcats.

Brian Lee lost a tight contest at number three singles, falling to Brock Burns of Buena Vista by a score of 3-6, 6-2, 10-6.

The Bearcats conclude their spring break trip to Hilton Head with a matchup against Lancaster Bible College, tomorrow, Thursday, March 7. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
