WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Sept. 14)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team scored a late second half goal to play to a 1-1 tie on the road at Penn College.

With the Bearcats (4-1-1) trailing 1-0 late in the second half,
Kyra Smith scored in the 78
th minute for SVC to earn the 1-1 against Penn (2-0-3) on Saturday in Williamsport.

Jude Galvin assisted on the lone goal scored for Saint Vincent, while also recording a shot in the tie as well.
Annie Van Horn added two shots on goal for the Bearcats, while
Emma Koller also recorded two shots on goal for SVC.

Jordan Kirkwood,
Tanisha Grewal, and
Madisen Geesaman all had one shot on goal for Saint Vincent as well.

Rilyn Warner played all 90 minutes in goal for Saint Vincent, making three saves, while allowing the lone goal.

Penn got off to a quick start as Olivia Casella scored just over two minutes into the contest on an assist from Sierra Klinger to give Penn the quick 1-0 lead. The rest of the half would see the Bearcats controlling much of the pace but were unable to find the back of the goal as Penn still led 1-0 at the half.

SVC out shot Penn 7-4 in the half, while also having two corner kicks compared to one by the Wildcats.

It was much of the same story in the second half as Saint Vincent held the ball in their offensive end for the majority of the half. Smith finally capitalized on a scoring opportunity for SVC, scoring on the assist from Galvin in the 78
th minute, tying the match at 1-1 and that score would hold strong to the end.

In the half dominated by the Bearcats, Saint Vincent out shot the Wildcats 7-0.

Overall, in the game, the Bearcats out shot Penn by a 14-4 margin, including 8-4 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 5-3 in favor of SVC, while the Bearcats committed eight fouls in comparison to six by the Wildcats.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, September 19, when they travel to La Roche for a non-conference matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at La Roche.
