CRESSON, Pa. (Sept. 17)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by Mount Aloysius in Cresson on Tuesday night.

The Bearcats (1-3-3) were stymied by three Mount Aloysius (3-3-1) in the final 20 minutes of the first half before a scoreless second half as the Bearcats fell in the road non-conference matchup.

The Bearcats totaled just five shots with three on goal in the loss.

Ethan Bridges, and
Bruno Hurtado recorded the shots on goal for Saint Vincent.

Kameron Rock took the loss in net, making seven saves, while allowing the three goals.

It was a very evenly played first 25 minutes of the opening half, as both SVC and Mount Aloysius controlled the ball in their offensive zone. Both defenses held strong over those first 25 as the score was 0-0.

The final 20-minutes of the first half were controlled by the Mounties. Mount Aloysius scored three goals in those 20 minutes. Gonzao Terricabris scored the first for the Mounties and Daniel Irujo and Bill Dohren followed with goals shortly after as the Mounties quickly took a 3-0 advantage.

The Bearcats were outshot 9-1 in the opening half. MAC committed nine fouls in comparison to SVC's seven fouls Corner kicks were also 3-0 in favor of Mount Aloysius.

It was much of the same story in the second half, as Mount Aloysius outshot the Bearcats 10-4 in the half. Rock made six of his seven saves, shutting out the Mounties in the second half.

Both teams had chances to score in the half, but neither capitalized on their opportunities as the 3-0 score in the first half held strong.

Shots were 19-5 in favor of Mount Aloysius, including ten shots on goal to three for the Bearcats. Corners were 5-0 in favor of the Mounties as well.

Fouls were 10-7 with Mount Aloysius having ten and SVC seven.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, September 20 when they travel to Hiram for another non-conference matchup, before beginning PAC play next week. The match at Hiram is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
