GREENVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 27)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team cruised to a 7-1 victory over Thiel for their second consecutive PAC win.

The Bearcats (7-1-1, 2-0 PAC) dominated the game in their offensive end, scoring five goals in the first half, while adding two goals in the second half, allowing just the one Tomcats (3-6, 0-1 PAC) goal early in the second half.

Six different Bearcats scored one goal in the win on the road at Thiel.
Tanisha Grewal led the Saint Vincent offensive attack with two goals for the Bearcats.
Emma Koller and
Kataira Rhodes along with
Brooke Garman,
Lexi Durkacs, and
Natalie Helman scored one goal for Saint Vincent in the victory. Helman's goal for SVC was the first goal of her young collegiate career.
Annie Van Horn also picked up an assist for Saint Vincent on Koller's goal.

It was a first half dominated by the Saint Vincent offense. All five Bearcats goals in the half came in the final 20 minutes of the half.

The Bearcats out shot Thiel in the half by a 22-1 margin, including 11-0 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were also dominated by SVC as they recorded 11 to just one from the Tomcats.

Four different SVC players scored in the opening half as Grewal scored two goals, while Koller, Garman, and Rhodes all scored one goal each.

After multiple opportunities to score early in the contest, Grewal found the back of the net for the Bearcats first goal of the night in the 18
th minute. Koller followed just over four minutes later, scoring off a pass from Van Horn to increase the Saint Vincent lead to 2-0.

The Grewal-Koller connection netted the Bearcats third goal of the night. Grewal found the back of the net for the second time in the half in the 25
th minute on a pass from Koller as the SVC lead was now 3-0.

Saint Vincent once again scored their next two goals within four minutes of each other. First, Garman scored for SVC and then Rhodes added the Bearcats final goal of the half on a penalty kick to give Saint Vincent a commanding 5-0 lead heading into the half.

It was Thiel who got off to a quick start offensively in the second half. After a Saint Vincent foul resulted in a penalty kick, Thiel converted on that penalty kick for their first goal of the night to cut the SVC lead to 5-1.

However, the Bearcats offensive outburst continued. About ten minutes after the Tomcats goal, Saint Vincent added another goal. Coming off of a corner kick and rebound, Durkacs scored the Bearcats first goal of the second half and sixth of the game as they took a 6-1 lead in the 59
th minute.
About 15 minutes later, Helman scored for the Bearcats, the first goal of her collegiate career, increasing the Saint Vincent lead to 7-1 and that would hold as the final score.
Saint Vincent outshot the Tomcats by a 34-3 margin, including 17-1 on shots on goal. Corner kicks were 12-3 in favor of SVC as well. Saint Vincent had four fouls compared to three from Thiel.
The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday, October 2 when they return home to take on Bethany. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. under the lights at UPMC Field on Wednesday.
