Men's swimming earns PAC victory at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Jan. 25)- The Saint Vincent College men's swimming team earned a 156-104 Presidents Athletic Conference victory at Westminster on Saturday afternoon.

Saint Vincent opened the afternoon with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Jacob Dzurica, Liam Randolph, Robert Harrington, and Alex Leskovansky picked up the victory in a time of 1:39.83 for the Bearcats.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Robert Harrington picked up a second place victory for the Bearcats, swimming a to a time of 1:55.25 to finish just being Avery Bumbach of Westminster who won the event.

Dzurica followed with Saint Vincent's first individual victory of the afternoon, winning the 100-yard backstroke. He won the event in a time of 53.62 seconds. Christopher Shilaos picked up a third place finish with a time of 1:00.35 in the event.

Sam McCall followed with a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event in a time of 1:07.15. Giovanni Guido finished second in the event with a time of 1:07.23 for Saint Vincent.

Liam Randolph continued the streak of wins for the Bearcats as he won the 200-yard butterfly. Randolph won the even in a time of 2:05.63, while his teammate Hayden Klein finished in second place with a time of 2:12.94.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Leskovansky recorded a second place result for the Bearcats. He swam a time of 23.26 to finish in second, while Soma Burt finished just behind him with a time of 24.33.

Dzurica added to his already impressive afternoon with a win in the 100-yard freestyle. He swam a time of 47.15, while Leskovansky finished in second in the event in a time of 51.83.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Shilaos earned another second place result for SVC with a time of 2:14.98. Jacob Halter finished in third with a time of 2:17.64 for the Bearcats.

Randolph followed with his second victory of the afternoon, this one coming in the 200-yard breaststroke. Randolph swam a time of 2:17.49 to win the event, while Guido finished in third with a time of 2:28.14.

The Bearcats won two of the final three individual events on the afternoon. Harrington won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.71. James Clark and Fintan Villanueva-Delaney both swam in the event as well, recording times of 5:39.53 and 6:12.54.

Klein then earned a victory in the 100-yard butterfly, swimming a tim eof 58.50.

Randolph added one more second place victory in the final individual event of the afternoon. He swam to a time of 2:03.86 in the 200-yard IM, while Guido finished third with a time of 2:03.86.

Saint Vincent concluded the afternoon with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Harrington, Gabe Yant, Leskovansky, and Dzurica won the event, swimming a time of 3:22.61 for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats return to action on Friday, January 31 competing in the two-day Carnegie Mellon PA Western Invite. The first day of the event on Friday is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
