INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Facing a strong field in Louisville, Kentucky, the Bearcat women's bowling team averaged over 191 for the day to finish sixth among 17 schools in the Thomas M Burris Memorial Tournament.
The event featured four Traditional games followed by two sets of four-game Baker team blocks.
In the opening game,
Kaylie Kurland led the way with a 231, while
Skyy Nicholls added a 222 and
Daphne Stuber finished with a 201 game. As a team, the Bearcats finished with a 944, or an average of 188.8. In game two, SVC dropped to a 915 total (183 average), led by Nicholls with a 218 game.
Brooke Street added a 197.
The third game saw the Bearcats reach the 1000 mark, an average of 200 per bowler.
Sabine Strickland (236),
Mareana Pilyih (230) and Stuber (202) had the top scored. The fourth Traditional game turned out to be the best of the day for the team, as the Bearcats averaged 204, for a total of 1016. Nicholls (223), Stuber (212), Strickland (211) and Pilyih (202) all broke the 200 mark.
In the first 4-game Baker block, the Bearcats were once again strong, shooting games of 211, 183, 199 and 241.
Individually, Nicholls finished 25th in Traditional play with a four-game average of 204, while Stuber was 29th (199.5). In Bakers, Pilyih led the team with an average of 205.3, followed by Kurland (200.6).
SVC returns to action on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2, competing at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg in the Bobcat Classic, hosted by Pitt-Greensburg.
