LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 30)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at Bethany in a Presidents Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
After a scoreless opening half, the Bearcats (7-2-2, 1-1-1 PAC) and Bison (1-5-3, 0-2-1 PAC) both scored one goal each in the second half to pick up the PAC draw.
Oziel Bonola-Soriano scored the lone goal for the Bearcats in the draw.
Kameron Rock was strong in net, making seven saves, while only allowing one goal.
Both teams played a scoreless opening 45 minutes, going into the half tied 0-0.
Saint Vincent came out strong in the second half, as Bonola-Soriano scored just four minutes into the second half to give Saint Vincent a 1-0 lead. That 1-0 lead would hold for the next 20-plus minutes, before the Bison scored in the 72nd minute to tie the game at 1-1. That 1-1 lead would hold to the end as the game ended in a draw.
Shots were as close as you could get as Saint Vincent slightly led by a 17-16 margin and 9-8 in shots on goal. SVC totaled nine corner kicks, while Bethany recorded just two.Â
Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, October 4 with a trip to Hiram for a PAC matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:40 p.m. in Ohio on Saturday.
