WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 11)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw in a Presidents Athletic Conference matchup at Waynesburg on Saturday night.
Both the Bearcats (9-2-3, 3-1-2 PAC) and Yellow Jackets (7-4-2, 2-2-2 PAC) played to a scoreless first half, before both scoring second half goals to play to the draw.
Antonio Mendes scored the long goal in the win for the Bearcats.
Kameron Rock made five saves in net for SVC.
Cameron Mulvanny and
Nick Johnson both recorded two shots on goal each.
Saint Vincent outshot Waynesburg 12-10, while shots on goal were 6-6. Corner kicks were 9-2 in favor of the Bearcats.
After a scorless first 60 minutes of the game, Mendes finally got the Bearcats on the board in the 64th minute to put SVC up 1-0. However, Waynesburg answered 13 minutes later, scoring a goal in the 77th minute to tie the game.
Both teams went scoreless over the final 13 minutes to end in a draw.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, October 15 with a road matchup at Washington and Jefferson. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at W&J.
