LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 16)- The Saint Vincent women's swimming team fell to Mount Union by a score of 172-90 in the Bearcats season opener.
Emma Martz led the way for Saint Vincent in the season opener. Martz picked up two wins and two second place results as well. Martz won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.91 and the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 28.73 seconds. She also swam a leg on both second place relay teams for SVC as well.
Rachel Hutchinson picked up a victory for the Bearcats as well. Hutchinson won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:35.78, while placing second in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:30.38) and th3 200-yard IM (2:30.04).
Fallyn Zembiec picked up second place results in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.09) and the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:10.55 for the Bearcats.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, October 24 as they host Chatham in their first PAC meet of the season. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Frank and Elizabeth Resnick Pool on Friday night.
