Saint Vincent shuts out Allegheny in regular season finale

LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 28)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout win at Allegheny on Tuesday night in their regular season finale in Meadville.

The Bearcats (14-3-1, 8-2-1 PAC) scored both of their goals in the second half to take down the Gators (6-8-5, 5-3-3 PAC) on the road.

Addie Fisher and Kyra Smith score Saint Vincent's two goals. Emma Koller assisted on both goals for the Bearcats as well.

Rilyn Warner picked up the shutout win in net, making four saves for Saint Vincent. 

Saint Vincent outshot the Gators by a 15-10 margin, including 9-4 in shots on goal over the course of the game.

Allegheny totaled seven corner kicks, while SVC recorded just one corner.

It was a back-and-forth opening half that was scoreless. Shots were almost dead even with Allegheny recording six and SVC had five of their own in the first half. Allegheny totaled five corners in the first half as well.

Fisher scored the first goal of the game about 13 minutes into the second half on an assist from Koller to give the Bearcats a 1-0 advantage. Smith added the insurance goal on Koller's second assist of the game in the 72nd minute. 

Over the final 18 minutes, the Bearcats defense held strong to earn the PAC victory in the regular season finale.

Saint Vincent has clinched the number three seed and first round home playoff game against an opponent and time to be determined. The PAC Quarterfinal game will take place this Saturday, November 1.
