ALLIANCE, Ohio (Nov. 1)- The Saint Vincent wrestling team placed 9th of 14 teams at the Mount Union Invitational to open their 2025-26 season on Saturday morning.
Four Saint Vincent wrestlers earned podium finishes for the Bearcats. 
Anthony Orlandini won the 149 lbs. B weight class, while 
Jonah McCoy earned a fourth place result in the 285 lbs. weight class. 
Chase Brandebura (174 lbs.) and 
Chase Stuchal (197 lbs.) both recorded eighth place results as well.
Orlandini earned the Bearcats 24.5 team points in the season opener. In the 149 lbs. B weight class, Orlandini received a first round bye, before taking down Cole Lintner (Mount Union) by a 21-5 tech. fall at 5:43. He followed with a fall at 2:01 in the quarterfinals and major decision (15-3) over Ethan Higgins of Seton Hill in the semifinals. 
In the championship, Orlandini won by an 8-2 decision over TJ Allison of Gannon.
McCoy opened up with an opening round major decision (15-2) for SVC in the heavyweight division. In the second round, he earned a 5-1 decision over Michael Gibson of Seton Hill to advance to the quarterfinals. After falling in the quarters McCoy earned a pin and then sudden victory-1 to earn his fourth place result.
Brandebura went 3-1 for SVC. The junior earned a first round bye, before dropping his second round matchup in the 174 lbs. weight class. Brandebua then earned back-to-back-to-back wins by fall, technical fall, and fall to finish eighth in the weight class for SVC.
Stuchal went 2-3 in the 197 lbs. weight class for SVC. Stuchal picked up both of his wins by pins after earning an opening round bye.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, November 5 as they open up PAC duals with a match at Washington and Jefferson. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night.
