WASHINGTON, Pa. (Dec. 6)- The Saint Vincent College men's swimming team took down PAC rivals Washington and Jefferson in an exciting 178-113 win on Saturday afternoon.
The men started the night off with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The A-relay won with the B and C relays coming in close behind at third and fourth.
Freshman William Schauss continued his excellence with easy wins in the 1000-yard and 500-yard freestyles as well as the 200-yard IM.
Likewise, senior Jacob Dzurica won both of his individual events in his usual 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke as well as the 200-yard backstroke.
Junior Liam Randolph continues to lock down the breaststroke events for the Bearcats winning both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke in a dominant fashion.
Freshman Owen Echegaray did the same in 100- and 200-yard butterfly and proved his excellence in the stroke.
Sophomore Giovanni Guido had two second place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke and individual medley.
Likewise, senior Alex Leskovansky and freshmen Evan Zeni and Maxwell Huck all contributed needed points through second and third place finishes in the sprint freestyle events.
To end the night, the men's 200-yard freestyle relay out touched W&J in an exciting 1:27.61 finish.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, January 17 with a road non-conference meet at Penn State-Altoona. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
