WASHINGTON, PA. (Dec. 6)- The Saint Vincent College women's swimming team took down PAC rivals Washington and Jefferson in an exciting 188-79 win on Saturdy afternoon/
The women started the night off with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The A-relay won with the B-relay coming back in the last minute to grab the 2nd. The Bearcats C-relay placed 4th.Â
Senior Emma Martz continued her excellence with easy wins in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly.Â
Likewise, sophomore Fallyn Zembiec won both of her individual events in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes. Â
Senior Rachel Hutchinson continues to lock down the distance events for the lady Bearcats winning both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle in a dominant fashion. Â
Junior Adrianna Grimm turned and burned with a win in the 50-yard freestyle and a 2nd place finish in the 200-yard backstroke only falling behind Zembiec. Â
Freshman Ava Sutter also had a good meet winning the 100 yard-freestyle and coming in second in the 100-yard backstroke. Â
Junior CC Hickin had two second place finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle.Â
Likewise, juniors Teresa Grimm and Brook McDermott and sophomore Deanna Miller all contributed needed points through second and third place finishes in a wide variety of events. Â
To end the night, the women's 200-yard freestyle A and B relay were able to grab 1st and 2nd place from W&J once again and the end the meet on a good note.Â
Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, January 17 with a road non-conference meet at Penn State-Altoona. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
