AUBURNDALE, Fla. (March 6)- The Saint Vincent baseball team fell to John Carroll by a score of 23-6 on Friday afternoon in Auburndale, Florida.
The Blue Streaks (5-1) out hit the Bearcats (3-2) by a total of 21-6 in the loss for SVC.
Saint Vincent had six different players record one hit in the game.
Ben Hudson and
Mario Disso were both 1-2, while
L.J. Evans,
Isiah Petty,
Nathan Whiteman, and
Alex Hess all recorded one hit each.
Cody May took the loss on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on six hits, while walking one batter as well.
John Carroll quickly opened up to a 1-0 lead after a half inning of play. Saint Vincent answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead at 2-1.
Dalton Nicklow recorded an RBI-groundout, while
Derek Hald came around to score on a wild pitch.
The Blue Streaks struck for six runs in the second and never lost the lead the rest of the way.
Saint Vincent will continue their spring break games in Florida tomorrow, Friday, March 7 with a matchup against Bluffton. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
