WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Apr. 16)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team set a program record with 18 wins after a 7-0 victory at Waynesburg to conclude their 2024-25 season.
The Bearcats (18-4) completed the clean sweep of the Yellow Jackets (2-12), winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches as well.
In the top doubles spot,
Carolina Walters and
Isabella Lane earned a 6-1 victory, while
Marisa Hooper and
Emily Pierce picked up a 6-0 victory at number two doubles.
Abby Donnelly and
Lydia Lieb also secured a 6-1 victory in the third doubles spot as SVC led 1-0 in the match.
Walters continued her dominant junior season with a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the top singles spot.
Marisa Hooper, along with Donnelly and Lieb all concluded their Bearcat careers with 6-0, 6-0 victories in singles play. Hooper's came at third singles, while Lieb won at four and Donnelly and five.
Lane added a 6-0, 6-1 win at number two singles, while
Julia Runk ended her Saint Vincent career with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the number six spot.
Saint Vincent surpassed their previous single season win total of 17, set in 2011-12 to break the school record.
