Men's lacrosse posts dominant win at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. (Apr. 18)- The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team posted a dominant 26-4 victory at Washington and Jefferson on Friday afternoon.

The Bearcats (8-7, 5-2 PAC) outscored W&J 11-2 in the first half, before outscoring the Presidents (5-10, 1-5 PAC) 15-2 in the second half as well.

17 different Bearcats totaled at least one point in the win. Jonathan Nagy led the Bearcats with seven points in the win, scoring three goals, while dishing out four assists as well. Liam McCall added three goals and two assists, while Carter Haid (two goals, two assists) and Luca Blevins (three goals, one assist) recorded four points each.

Reed Hunt and Cole Vollero both scored two goals and dished out an assist, while Brady Beard added three goals and was a perfect 17-17 in faceoffs. Neal Ritchie and Calvin Rose both added two pomaints with a goal and assist each, while Ryan Rosenberger scored two goals for Saint Vincent. Connor Smith, Owen Rogers, Brad Mockenhaupt, and Tony Ferreira all scored one goal each.

Eli Hartle, Jared Gennuso, and Justin Wodarek all recorded one assist each for the Bearcats in the win as well. 

Mason Krabbe recorded six ground balls and Isaiah Francis scooped up five ground balls for SVC as well. Colin Cooper went 6-8 for Saint Vincent in faceoffs. 

Garrett Ritts made one save in net for SVC and Jackson Blow recorded three saves in net for the Bearcats as well.

SVC outshot the Presidents by a 75-11 margin in the win. The Bearcats forced 30 W&J turnovers, while holding them to go just 14-28 on clears. Ground balls were 54-19 in favor of Saint Vincent as well, while the Bearcats went 2-3 on extra man opportunities.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, April 26 hosting Thiel in their regular season finale. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at UPMC Field in Latrobe with senior day festivities taking place after the game.
