Koller's late penalty kick pushes Bearcats past Mount Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. (Sept. 10)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team earned a 1-0 road non-conference victory at Mount Aloysius after a late penalty kick goal from Emma Koller.

In a low scoring game, Koller was fouled in the box allowing her to attempt the penalty kick for Saint Vincent (4-1). Koller took advantage of her opportunity finding the back of the net in the 77th minute, which was all the Bearcats would need to down the Mounties (0-3-2).

Saint Vincent controlled the pace of play throughout the game as they significantly out shot Mount Aloysius by a 19-4 margin. The Bearcats also led 7-3 in shots on goal.

Rilyn Warner continued her strong start to the season as well, recording her third shutout of the season, making three saves for Saint Vincent.

On top of her goal, Koller recorded six shots, including two shots on goal. Addie Fisher added four shots, including one shot on goal, while Lexi Graham recorded two shots on goal coming off of the bench.

Jordan Kirkwood and Ava Azurin both recorded shots on goal in the win for Saint Vincent as well.

The Bearcats recorded seven corner kicks over the course of the match, while limiting Mount Aloysius to just two corner kicks. Fouls were 7-3 with the Mounties recording the seven.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, September 13 as they play host to Wilmington in their first of four consecutive home matches. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 noon on Saturday at UPMC Field.
