Ashley Campbell named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 12)- Head women's basketball coach Kam Gissendanner has announced that Ashley Campbell will be the new assistant women's basketball coach for the Bearcats.

Campbell previously spent 10 seasons on the Bearcat coaching staff and eighth on a full-time basis through the 2018-19 season.

During her first tenure on the coaching staff, Saint Vincent saw 20 student-athletes honored with All-PAC recognition and saw Brittany Sedlock win back-to-back PAC Player of the Year awards during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. 

A four-year member of the Bearcat basketball team, she started 52 games in her career as a point guard, including all 24 during her senior season. In 2008-09, she averaged 8.4 points per game and had a career-best 97 steals and 123 assists. Campbell earned All-PAC Coaches Honors following her senior season. 

Most recently, she was an inclusion elementary school teacher at Urban Academy Charter School in Pittsburgh, Pa.

"Ashley brings an incredible passion for the game, a deep understanding of player development, and a strong commitment to building relationships on and off the court. Her experience and energy will make an immediate impact on our program, and I know our student-athletes will benefit greatly from her leadership."

She is a native of Donora, PA and graduate of Ringgold High School.
