WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Sept. 13)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory on the road at Penn College on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Bearcats improve their record to 6-1 overall, which is their best start to a season since the program NCAA Division-III.
Logan Kremposky scored the game winning goal for the Bearcats in the 61st minute.
Cameron Mulvanny picked up an assist on Kremposky's goal.
Kameron Rock picked up the shut out victory in net, making five saves for the Bearcats.Â
It was a back-and-forth opening half of play as both teams had opportunities, but neither was able to find the back of the net. Shots were 7-5 in the half in favor of SVC, while the Bearcats also attempted one corner kick as well.
In the second half, it was more of the back-and-forth play early on before the Bearcats finally got the scoring going. Kremposky scored on an assist from Mulvanny about 15 minutes into the second half to put the Bearcats up 1-0.
That one goal was all Saint Vincent would need as the defense led by Rock held strong for the non-conference victory.
Shots were 17-11 and 10-5 in shots on goal in favor of Saint Vincent. Penn totaled seven corner kicks, while Saint Vincent recorded four of their own.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, September 17 hosting La Roche in a non-confernce matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night at UPMC Field.
