WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 18)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team earned a 5-2 road Presidents Athletic Conference victory at Waynesburg on Thursday night.
The Bearcats (4-3, 2-2 PAC) took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, before following that up with four more victories in singles play.
In doubles,
Carolina Walters and
Caroline O'Connor teamed up for the first time in 2025 to earn a 6-1 victory in the top doubles spot.
Bella Baumgardner and
Rebecca Kurylo clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory in the third doubles spot to give Saint Vincent a 1-0 lead.
Saint Vincent continued to control the match in singles play as the Bearcats won the top four singles matches to win the match.
Walters continued her dominant undefeated singles record on the year, picking up a 6-2, 6-0 win in the top spot for SVC.
Rachel Zgurich added a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the second singles spot.
O'Connor added her second win of the evening with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in third singles. In fourth singles,
Sydney McWreath earned a marathon 2-6, 7-6(7-0), 10-4 vicotry to earn SVC a fourth point in singles play.
The Bearcats return to action on Sunday, September 21 with a non-conference matchup at Carlow. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon.
