PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 20)- The Saint Vincent women's volleyball team fell to Chatham 3-0 in a Presidents Athletic Conference matchup in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats (2-5, 1-1 PAC) fell in straight sets to the Cougars (7-1, 2-0 PAC) by scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-11.
Sani Jones recorded a double-double for the Bearcats, totaling 10 assists and 11 digs.
Brenna McCracken added a team-high 20 digs for SVC in the loss as well.
Offensively,
Lauren Fox recorded six kills, while
Dakota Hershberger and
Meegan Williams both recorded four kills each.
It was a close first set as the Bearcats held a slight 18-17 lead. However, the Cougars closed the set out on an 8-2 run to hand the Bearcats the opening set loss (25-20).
In the second set, it was much fo the same story. Saint Vincent held a 19-16 lead, but another late Chatham run put the Bearcats even further behind. Chatham closed this set out on a 9-2 run to win the set (25-21) and the Bearcats found themselves trailing 2-0 in the match.
Chatham controlled the entirety of the third set to hand Saint Vincent their first PAC loss of the season.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, September 24 hosting W&J in a PAC matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Center on Wednesday night.
