ALTOONA, Pa. (Sept. 7)- The Saint Vincent women's tennis team fell to Penn State-Altoona by a score of 6-1 in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon.
Carolina Walters had a solid day for the Bearcats, picking up a win in doubles and singles.Â
Walters along with
Emily Pierce earned a 6-4 victory in the top doubles spot, however the Bearcats fell in the other two doubles matches and found themselves trailing 1-0.
Walters picked up the lone Saint Vincent win in singles, earning a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the top spot.Â
SVC fell in three sets in two of the six singles matches. Pierce fell in a tight 2-6, 7-5, 1-10 match in second singles and in third singles
Caroline O'Connor lost a tough 2-6, 6-3, 0-10 decision.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, September 10 with a trip to Cresson to take on Mount Aloysius. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
