Women's bowling earns ranking in two national polls

LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 2)- The Saint Vincent women's bowling team earned a spot in two National Tenpin Coaches Association Pre-Season polls.

Led by veteran Head Coach Jeff Zidek, the Bearcats earned a spot in the NTCA Division II/III, ranking fourth in the country, while also earning one first place vote as well. Saint Vincent also was ranked 22nd in the all divisions poll, consisting of Division I, II, and III.

Earlier this week, the Bearcats were picked first in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference pre-season coaches poll.

Saint Vincent has qualified for the NCAA Tournament the last two seasons, winning the AMCC Conference Championship both years to earn the conference's automatic bid. The Bearcats also qualified for the ITC Championships last season as well, solidifying themselves as one of the top women's bowling programs in all three divisions in the entire country.

The Bearcats will begin their 2026-27 season this weekend as they take part in the Midwest Collegiate Championship (Tier 1) on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on both days at 5-star lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
