Men's volleyball extends win streak to 12 in 3-0 sweep at Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. (Mar. 18) — The Saint Vincent College men's volleyball team kept rolling Wednesday night, earning a straight-set Presidents' Athletic Conference road win over Grove City College.
 
 With the victory, the Bearcats improved to 12-2 overall and stayed unbeaten in PAC play at 8-0, extending their winning streak to 12 matches.
 
Saint Vincent secured the sweep by set scores of 25-23, 26-24, and 25-23. All three sets were tightly contested, but the Bearcats made enough plays late in each frame to complete the road victory. Saint Vincent hit .258 as a team in the match, compared to .163 for Grove City.
 
The Bearcats were led offensively by Shawn McSwiggen, who posted a match-high 21 kills while hitting .441 and adding an ace, five digs, and 22.5 points. Tyler Nelson also had an efficient night, totaling seven kills on .500 hitting, while Zebadiah Wyant added nine kills, one ace, and five digs.
 
Jack Ryan paced the Saint Vincent offense with 35 assists while contributing two kills, three block assists, and nine digs.
 
At the net, Braeden Artman recorded a team-best five total blocks, including one solo and four assists, while Rocco Marino added three total blocks. Defensively, Jackson Genicola anchored the back row with a team-high nine digs, while Ryan and McSwiggen each chipped in five or more digs.
 
As a team, the Bearcats finished with 43 kills, 41 assists, two service aces, 10 total blocks, and 37 digs, while holding Grove City to 38 kills and a .163 attack percentage. Max Gianneski led the Wolverines with 10 kills.
 
Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, March 21 with a home matchup against Hiram. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Center.
