LATROBE, Pa. (Mar. 21) — The Saint Vincent College men's volleyball team continued its strong stretch on Saturday afternoon, defeating Hiram College in straight sets at the Robert S. Carey Center on senior day.
With the win, the Bearcats improved to 13-2 overall and remained a perfect 9-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play, while extending their winning streak to 13 consecutive matches.
Saint Vincent earned the sweep by set scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-17. The Bearcats controlled the match throughout, hitting .268 as a team while holding Hiram to a .088 attack percentage.
Saint Vincent totaled 43 kills, 40 assists, three service aces, nine total blocks, and 45 digs in the victory.
Zebadiah Wyant led the Bearcat attack with 14 kills and added an ace, five digs and two blocks, while
Shawn McSwiggen followed with 13 kills and one ace.
Rocco Marino chipped in five kills and a team-high three blocks, and
Braeden Artman added two blocks at the net.
Jack Ryan directed the offense with 30 assists and also contributed two blocks, while
Jackson Genicola paced the back row with 10 digs.
Nicolas Serapiglia added four assists, one ace and five digs in the win.
As a team, the Bearcats finished with advantages over Hiram in kills (43-29), assists (40-26), aces (3-2), blocks (9-7) and digs (45-33). Cullen Sivak led the Terriers with nine kills.
Prior to the match, Saint Vincent honored their six seniors.

The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday, March 25, with a 7 p.m. home PAC matchup against Geneva.
